Residential Care Sector
1. Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV)
AACS has played a leading role in the structuring of a new
dementia care initiative of ARV in Sydney. AACS are the
program evaluators and have set-up a design to assess the
outputs and outcomes of these interventions. Interventions
include targeted education programs, the setting-up of new staff
'team' models, roster changes, flexible service delivery approaches,
and assessments targeted around resident quality of life needs.
Outcomes being assessed include improvements in clinical care,
resident quality of life, behavioural management, staff and
resident satisfaction and improvement with documentation and
assessment.
2. Other Residential Care Providers
AACS has conducted a number of reviews for aged care
organisations. These reviews examine staffing models, care
practice approaches and ways that organisations can become more
dementia care focused to achieve better
quality outcomes for
both residents and staff.
Community Care Sector
1. Boroondara Health & Aged Care Services
AACS is conducting a number of projects for this local government
service.
These include reviews and developments of
assessment system for the HACC program, development of a seniors
strategy for the municipality and development of a classification
system for the health care services.
2. Eastern Metropolitan Region: Local Government
AACS is undertaking a demand trend analysis to develop a model to
identify changes in the socio-demographic profile of current and
future aged care recipients for the next 10 years. This
includes the issues of and strategies for targeting of services. The
project methods combined analysis of background statistical data and
reports provided by Councils with consultations and in-depth
interviews with key informants.
