Safe Return Home
The Safe Return Home® (www.safereturnhome.com.au)
personal and family health management programs cover ID Assist™ (a system that links Police and people
'at risk') and Medi Assist™, a program that provides storage of
essential health care information for consumers.
(1) ID Assist™- this program helps people who are at
risk of being lost in the community to safely return home. It
provides a secure Internet/Intranet database linked to the Victoria
and Tasmania Police that is available 24 hours/7 days a week. Police
will use their direct access to assist with the speedy search and
identification of missing people in 'at risk' categories (those with
special needs, including dementia and intellectual
disability). Registrants (be they carers, family members,
nursing homes or other approved institutions) can access an
individual's profile to update it as circumstances require,
including photo ID of the 'at risk' individual to assist response
teams or the general public. This information can be printed,
emailed or faxed as required. IDAssist Medilog bracelets are
available for this program.
(2) Medi Assist™, - this program provides a
secure Internet database for people wanting to store important and
detailed information about their medical, health and lifestyle
profiles that may be needed in an emergency, or for rapid
retrieval. Profiles might include guardians/doctors contact
details, medical conditions and history, medications, care plans for
allergies/asthma, and other related conditions. Each
registrant has a dedicated web area to view, enter and edit
information online. Information can be printed, emailed or faxed as
required. The program is ideal for individuals with health issues
where a readily accessible and detailed profile could be critical to
their health outcome, or for individuals/organisations who require
secure and available access to medical information. These
include schools, workplaces where individuals may be at risk,
frequent travellers, and parents of children with medical
conditions.
